To assess an engineer’s knowledge and ability to be able to plan, implement record and safely conduct thorough examinations upon various types of MEWPs and MCWPs and to obtain an IPAF Competent Assessed Person (CAP) Licence.


1 – 3 days, depending on machine type(s)


  • At the end of the course the candidate will have approved to the assessor their knowledge and ability to:
  • Be aware of the current relevant safety regulations
  • Formulate a thorough examination scheme
  • Check for machine service updates and warnings
  • Proved their sufficient independence and impartiality to be able to make objective decisions
  • Proved their knowledge and understanding of categories of MEWP for which their license is held
